Case Study

JOHN CONNELL AWARDS

Our brief from the client is to deliver a slick awards ceremony with high production values, but within the many restrictive operating constraints imposed by the venue.

Security screening is a major concern, particularly after the multiple terrorist attacks in the UK over 2017, resulting in a limit for load-in and build time of 45 mins from access to event start. All staff on site must undergo a rigorous security check, and any production vehicles are subject to off-site physical checks and fitted with a tracking device to ensure the vehicle does not deviate from the agreed route through central London.

To work within the limited timeframe on site all the production elements are set-up in the exact floorplan layout as per the venue in the C3 premises the day before the event. Everything is tested and cabled ready to drop in to position and connect up during the build.

Our Lighting, Audio, Video and Camera teams will go through all the steps of the rehearsal then carefully semi pack down and load on to the truck. The production manager ensures there is sufficient crew to load in once on site, and each technician is fully briefed of their specific role and allocated tasks.
