The challenge
The specific challenge for this event is its complexity. The sheer number of performances, combined with the conference sessions and networking, can result in over 1000 separate events occurring in the city over a 4 day period. The timely coordination for the builds alongside the logistics of Brighton infrastructure all adding to the complexity. There are 600 bands specs to meet and the C3 team must ensure all venues have the allocated resources to cater for the shows. Other challenges include language and cultural barriers presented by artists from 33 different countries and their respective teams.

The solution
Planning starts 11 months in advance, immediately after the previous year has wrapped up. Our production manager has developed unique solutions and dedicated teams to target each aspect of the event. The production manager creates an internal infrastructure accessible to a tech team of 65 people. Crew chiefs, event managers and over 400 volunteers are recruited and briefed weeks in advance and the whole event is delivered with military precision to the Master Event Manual.
